Digitally Distracted
To start with… Holly, you are my first subscriber. YAY! 🎉 Nowhere to go except UP! 😁
In doing the worksheets for my series building, I got trapped for a couple weeks in my person conundrum of “I can type this a hell of a lot faster.” Which is true, plus my handwriting looks like pure poo. Bevis and Butthead probably has better handwriting (if they were real).
Nothing wrong with typing; but I catch myself typing it and forgetting it. It is buried in sub-folders, out of sight out of mind, and there is always a shinier squirrel on my iPad. Multiple apps all screaming “OOH OOH, PICK ME. PICK ME!”
So after finally admitting to myself, I must stave off the Scrivener app until I am at a stage that I have my scene cards written. All pre-planning and worksheets are going in a small binder. I will just have to deal with my own chicken scratch.
What now? For the past couple weeks, I have been going through (during lunchtime) at work and transcribing my completed electronic worksheets back onto paper, and then deleting the electronic version. Should be caught back up this week. Afterwards, I will be back to finishing up the rest of lesson 2. Holly had said in her course that done right, this lesson will take some time. Boy oh boy! Take some time is right – especially with my own self induced “try to type it first” distraction.
Water under the bridge. Onward.
